Questions & Answers

Q2095: What is the target of the attack of my opponent's card when I have "Mirrors Valley" [Set], "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora" in my center, and "Iron Crystal Dragon, Evaclear" on my right?

A: You can choose either "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora" or "Iron Crystal Dragon, Evaclear" as the final target. Since all of the attack target changing abilities belonging to the non-turn Fighter are occurring at the same time, the non-turn Fighter can resolve them in any order. In this case, you can choose which Monster you would like them to target by resolving the effect of the card you want to attack last.

Q2119: When do you activate the [Overturn] of "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"?

A: You activate it after your opponent attacks and declares the attack target. This declaration is done before the play timing that occurs during the battle.

Q2120: There is a "Mystery Setting" in the soul of "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora". If my gauge is 0, and "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora" was attacked by my opponent's card, can I activate [Overturn] after my gauge is increased?

A: No, you cannot. The activation of "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] is done before the play timing that occurs during the battle. "Mystery Setting" was resolved during battle, so you cannot declare "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn].

Q2121: When the opponent's card attacks, will the "When this card attacks..." ability of my opponent activate before I can use "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn]?

A: No, it will not. The declaration of "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] is done before the play timing during the battle. The "When this card attacks..." ability of the opponent's card will be activated after the declaration of [Overturn].

Q2122: When the opponent's card attacks, I activate "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn]. Does the effect of changing the target of the attack and dealing 1 damage to the opponent resolve?

A: Yes, it will. The activation of "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] is done before the play timing during the battle. At the play timing immediately after that, the effect of changing the target of the attack and dealing 1 damage to the opponent will be activated and resolved.

Q2123: During the turn that "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] is activated, can the opponent use a [Counter] to change the target of attack and deal damage to the opponent?

A: Yes, they can. When an [Overturn] or [Overkill] is used, a Fighter cannot use a [Counter] in response, but that Fighter can [Counter] the ability that is provided by an [Overturn] or [Overkill].

Q2124: During the turn that "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] is activated, when the opponent's card attacks, between the ability of the opponent's card "When this card attacks..." ability and the ability to "...change the target of attacks and deal damage to the opponent", which one will be resolved first?

A: The "When this card attacks..." ability of the opponent's card is resolved first. Abilities that resolve in the same timing are first resolved by the turn Fighter's cards.

Q2125: When two of the opponent's cards link attack, I activate "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn]. How does the effect of the changing of the attack target and dealing 1 damage to the opponent work?

A: The effect will be activated once for each attacking card. In this case, since the effect is activated twice, 1 damage will be dealt twice.

Q2126: When two of the opponent's cards link attack, I activate "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn]. Are the opponent's cards affected by the effect of having to attack alone?

A: No, the attack remains a link attack.

Q2127: After the battle where "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] is activated, can the opponent's cards link attack?

A: No, they cannot. The opponent's cards cannot perform a link attack due to the effect that states they must attack alone.

Q2128: After the battle where "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] is activated, can the opponent's cards choose to attack a card other than this one?

A: Yes, they can.

Q2129: After the battle where "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] is activated, "Demonic Demise Dragon, Azi Dahaka" attacks. What is the target of the attack?

A: The target of the attack is changed to this card due to the effect of "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] after being changed to all opposing monsters and Fighters due to the ability of "Demonic Demise Dragon, Azi Dahaka".

Q2130: I activate the [Overturn] of "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora" while I control "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora" and "Iron Crystal Dragon, Evaclear". What is the target of the attack?

A: You can choose either "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora" or "Iron Crystal Dragon, Evaclear" as the final target. Since all of the attack target changing abilities belonging to the non-turn Fighter are occurring at the same time, the non-turn Fighter can resolve them in any order. In this case, you can choose which Monster you would like them to target by resolving the effect of the card you want to attack last.

Q2131: During the attack phase where "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] was activated, can the opponent end their attack phase with a card in [Stand] that can attack?

A: No, they cannot. If a card can attack the card "must attack if able", a Fighter cannot choose to not attack and proceed to the end of the attack phase.

Q2132: During the final phase of the turn where "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] was activated, if there is an Impact Monster in [Stand] on the opponent's field, can the opponent end their final phase?

A: No, they cannot. During the final phase, if a card can attack the card "must attack if able", a Fighter cannot choose to not attack and proceed to the end of the final phase.

Q2133: During the attack phase of the turn where "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] was activated, can the opponent end their attack phase with an Impact Monster in [Stand] on their field?

A: No, they cannot. If a card can attack the card "must attack if able", a Fighter cannot choose to not attack and proceed to the end of the attack phase.

Q2134: During the turn where "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] was activated, before the opponent declares an attacker, can I [Rest] an opponent's monster in [Stand] with a [Counter]?

A: Yes, you can. If the card you are targeting can be targeted as a [Counter], you can [Rest] the card before the opponent chooses it as an attacker.

Q2135: Am I allowed to keep a card with [Double Attack] in [Rest] after attacking during the turn where "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] was activated?

A: No, you cannot. Cards with [X Attack], such as [Double Attack], will always [Stand] the requisite amount of times when resolving the ability.

Q2136: During the turn where "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] was activated, can the opponent end their attack phase with a monster in their center and their Item in [Stand] on their field?

A: Yes, they can. As long as a card in [Stand] cannot attack, you can finish the attack phase. However, in the case where the Item can attack despite having a center, you cannot end the attack phase if that card is in [Stand].

Q2137: I return "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora" to my hand during the turn that I activated its [Overturn]. When an opponent's card attacks, what happens to the effect of redirecting the attack to "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"?

A: When the opponent's card attacks, the effect of dealing 1 damage remains, but because the card that would be redirected to isn't available, the target of the attack remains the same.

Q2138: With the effect of "Prismatic Prisma", my "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora" has its attack and defense increased by 3000. During that turn, if I were to call "Spinel Crystal Dragon, Spirytas" to the center, would it also have its attack and defense increased by 3000?

A: Yes, it will.

Q2195: During the turn where "Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Aldo Athora"'s [Overturn] was activated, I called "Ardent Heavenly Crystal Dragon, Athora Alexand" on top of it.
